Standard Cauldron - The standard cauldron is the most commonly used cauldron, size two, made of pewter, and is the requirement of all Hogwarts Potions students.
Sizing - Cauldron sizes range from one to seven depending on how much potion they can hold.
-Size One is the smallest and is typically used for the Potioneer on the go
-Size Two is typically used for students
-Size Three is typically for household brewers with small families
-Size Four is typically for household brewers with large families
-Size Five is typically for private brewers
-Size Six is typically for commercial brewers
-Size 7 is the largest and is typically used in Hospitals.
Composition - Cauldron compositions are rarely functional, since the lowest grade of metal to be used is Pewter and is more than adequate at containing most* potions, and are more commonly changed for vanity's sake. Cauldrons are manufactured in Pewter, Brass, Copper, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
*There are a few potions that require a higher grade of metal to be used, however those potions are not included in the Hogwarts curriculum.
Potions Kits - Kits are specifically tailored to the needs of the user based on their year of schooling. First Year kits contain all the supplies necessary for first years, Second Year kits contain all the supplies necessary for second years, etc.
