Eli grew up with his Aunt Amelia, who is not actually his aunt, but rather a kindly older woman who adopted him when her husband died and she knew she would never have kids of her own. Amelia treats Eli like a son, and he is very protective of her, despite only being 11 and not being related to her by blood. Amelia is a muggle and it came as a great shock to her when Eli started to make strange things happen, including turning one of his classmates green when they insulted Amelia in front of Eli. It came as an odd relief when he was accepted to Hogwarts, which he cannot wait to attend. He tends to be shy when first meeting someone but around friends he becomes loud and outgoing. Although he tries in his classes, he dislikes academics and is an average student at best.
