David threw another piece of parchment into a rubbish bin and then placed his head in his hands, he hadn’t slept that night and he was struggling to concentrate on anything. He felt like an Inferi and had to keep shielding his eyes from the light that was pouring through the window.

After waking his parents up and saying a quick hello, his mother had insisted that he stay for a drink and a chat, so he got home an hour later and the sun was starting to rise. He could have only got two hours of sleep anyway, but still he thought that it would be a good idea to try.

Tossing and turning, all he could think about were Ursula’s words that she had said just a few hours previously and they kept on bothering him. Maybe he should have focused on the smaller things, maybe there was something in this potion. Was he wrong to just dismiss it as easily as he did? Maybe.

It was also the look on Ursula’s face that had bothered him, he didn’t like it, if she was concerned then he should look into it, shouldn’t he? These were some of the questions that had been racing around in his brain, that had kept him awake and before he knew it he had to get up and head to the office.

He now sat staring at a blank piece of parchment, covering his eyes with one hand and fiddling with a quill in the other. He didn’t like how last night had ended, he needed to apologise, he didn’t want her to think him an arse like that drop out loser Campbell that he had to constantly check up on at Hogwarts. Why he had got protection he didn’t know, the loser may as well be fed to hungry basilisks for all he cared.

One piece can finish the puzzle

Those few words kept running through his head like one of his parents broken records, over and over again, it just didn’t want to stop. So he dipped his quill in ink and began to write.

Then in sudden frustration he gave up, scribbled through the whole thing, balled up the piece of parchment and through it at a bin, but in his frustration he was way off target and it ended up sailing straight over the top and landing in the plant plot.

The First Puzzle Piece Ursula-Letter

He signed the letter, re read through it, frowned at his poor attempt, and then with a small shrug he sealed it with the Minister of Magic’s crest. He tied it to the leg of the owl that sat on a post in his room and hoped that Ursula would get back to him as soon as possible.

The First Puzzle Piece Forgiv17

The letter was something she really didn't enjoy doing, mostly because it entailed writing what was going to happen. Actually, until now, Ursula hadn't fleshed that much of it out. Or that deeply. Resolutely. Finitely.

But what was done was done, and it seemed to be something she could follow to the letter. She needed to get out of here. Emily in tow, safe and in front of her. Otherwise everything would go, slowly, and Ursula wasn't just yet ready for that.

The transfiguration teacher lets the hair bun fall and moves her head. It's given her a headache.
Only it takes a while for the headache to subside and a dull ache in her chest to follow after it.
