Sophie was sitting in the classroom, waiting for her old students to come. She's just had a fun lesson with the seventh years and was still grinning ear to ear. She was excited to see the second and third years again, though a bit dissapointed she won't be seeing her best friend's daughter this year, but she understood perfectly little girl had a lot of stuff on her mind. The redhead shook her head to get rid of nasty thoughts.
She got up and walked over to the blackboard as she had a bit of time. Taking the white chalk, she wrote "MUGGLES VS WIZARDS". It should be a talkative lesson, this one.

(OOC: Post your arrivals, lesson will start shortly)

Leighton walked into the classroom, noticing how she was the student so far. It was odd considering that Leighton was used to being one of the last to get to class last year. It was something that Leighton felt proud of. Last year, History of Magic was her favorite class along with Potions. One thing that Leighton loved more than potions was history.
Upon entering the classroom, Leigh read the board and noticed how it said Muggles vs Wizards. Leighton could only imagine how controversial this topic would be. Leigh could guess what most of the Slytherin's opinions would be. Leigh and Lyss were probably the only Slytherins that didn't mind Muggles. (Of course, Leighton didn't know for sure.)
Sitting down at one tables toward the middle-front, not minding that people noticed her this year. Leigh discovered that many people were amazed by her being from America, not repulsed. Leighton decided that she was going to use that to her advantage.
Leigh took out her notebook and quills from her bag, Leighton began twiddling her wand in her fingers. Hopefully Lyss would be in this class. It would be fun to talk to someone... or rather make fun of people. Comic relief was always a good thing.

Hester slipped into the classroom, embarrassed that she had ended up in the wrong one just moments ago. She couldn't see anyone she knew well, only a Slytherin girl, so she sat down in an empty row and took out her book, parchment, quill and ink. Then she waited, worrying that no one would want to sit next to her. She had felt so relieved when Lavender had sat next to her, but she had forgotten that she was only a first year. She was now really worried about this class. Would she enjoy it at all?

Sami slowly stepped in after Hester, having satten with the first years for a few agonizing minutes before realizing she was in the wrong class. She immediately spotted a Slytherin girl whom resembled a girl she had met this summer at Fortesque's. Lachlan, I think. She noticed the Slytherin girl ha an empty seat next to hear and slid into it, hoping that the girl hadn't planned on sitting with one of her friends. It would be another terrible embarassment to be dropped by a student a year younger than her. That's how old she looked, at least.

She took out her supplies and her textbook, glimpsing at the words on the chalkboard. 'MUGGLES VS. WIZARDS' would hopefully prove to be a debatable one, as she had yet to have anything to talk about. Sometimes people would say she argued, more than debated. But she, for the most part, always managed to keep an open mind while talking. The girl thought this to be the key difference.

"Hello. I'm Sami, pleasure to meet you."

Emily enetered tha class joping she wasn't late she liked the class and professor Nott and she didn't like being late. She was glad to see that only three people were there Hester, Leigh and a ravencalw the gyrffindor didn't know. SHe took a seat next to heseter "hey" she smiled at her fellow gryffindor, she liked hester but she had't seen her in a while. She hoped she wouldn't mind her sitting there.

She took out her textbook and other things before leaning back in her seat and waiting for the rest of the class to arrive, she read what was on the board 'MUGGLES VS WIZARDS.' She hoped that the lesson would inculed a dscussion or something. The gryffindor was in a chatty mood that morning, well she was always in a talkative mood. She looked round the class wondering when everone else would get there.

Sophie smiled at Leighton when she entered the classroom and grinned at Hester and Sami, remembering they came to her class before with the first years. When Emily came in, she gave her a small nod. She wanted to wait for more people to turn up, but it seemed they won't be coming or were just late. Ah well. She put the chalk down and walked over to her desk.

"Welcome back to Hogwarts and welcome back to History of magic. This lesson, we'll be talking about how we, magical folk are different from Muggles. And I'm not thinking of only the obvious answer, we can do magic and they can't. What do they have and we don't? What do we have in common with them? Can we have an affect on them without them knowing? Do they affect us?" the redhead aimed her wand at the chalk before she asked those questions and as she was talking, the chalk wrote her questions on the blackboard.

Hester smiled at Emily, glad that someone had sat next to her.

She waited for more people to come in but they didn't. It seemed like this would be a very small class.

She watched as Professor Nott began writing the questions on the blackboard and she scribbled them down onto her parchment, leaving spaces where she could fill in the answers when necessary. It would all be about muggles and wizards this lesson. She expected that she would do quite well, seeing as she was muggleborn and had knowledge of both the muggle world and the wizarding world.

Leighton looked up when a girl took a seat next to her. Leighton was only slightly disappointed when she realized the girl wasn't Lyss. But, Leighton had other classes with her. Leigh saw that the girl wore Ravenclaw robes. Good, Leigh thought, I can sit by someone intelligent during one of my favorite classes. The girl introduced herself as Sami.
Leighton smirked at the girl. She seemed like someone Leighton could stand. That was always a good sign. "Pleasure to meet you as well Sami. I'm Leighton Vladimir, you can call me Leigh if you wish." Leighton only let a select few call her Leigh. Leighton usually had a very good judge of character.
Turning back to face the teacher, Leighton listened with the utmost respect as Professor Nott spoke. Leighton wrote down the questions that Ms. Nott wrote down and spoke as well. Leighton would jump in the conversation after someone else did. Yet, Leigh could already tell this was going to be a good class.

"Awesome," Sami replied, happy to have gotten an answer out of Leigh. The Slytherin looked a bit formal and uptight at first, but so far she seemed really nice. As they say, first impressions are lasting ones.. Once Professor Nott began speaking, she quickly whipped out her quill and began scribbling down everything she asked, occasionaly writing down answers to questions she thought she had a pretty good idea of. She knew that muggles were far more advanced than wizards when it came to technology, but decided to wait until someone else answered first. She didn't want to look like a know-it-all in front of her classmates, or particularly rude.

Tapping her finger, a bit impatiently, she sat and waited for more students to come in. After a minute or so, the girl really noticed how little students were in History of Magic as opposed to the other, more popular, clases. She was clueless as to why it was unfavored by many students, after all, it wasn't like their teacher was a ghost like the previous professor at Hogwarts. At least, that's what she heard.

Emily saw the class was very small, she was sure more people had taken history of magic last year. She listened as Professor Nott spoke. She picked up her quill and dipped it into her purple ink. She wrote down the questions, that were written on the board, in her neat loopy handwritting. She sat back in her chair waiting for the lesson to countniue. She started to think about some of the questin the Professor had raised, for a pureblood witch she was suprised at how much she knew about muggles, the lesson might not be too bad considering the subject was interesting. AShe also liked history of magic. It was an interesting subject.

Sophie looked around, none of the girls replied and instead of a frown, a wide grin appeared on her young face.
"You're not in the mood? That's great! Write an essay, answering all those question and owl them to me, then. I have to get your grades somehow." she shruged. She didn't want to grade those papers later, but she guessed it was better to procrastinate and have fun now.
"Now let's do something different. You hungry? Wait a second." the witch said, going into her cabinet.

A few moments later, she came back with a box full of sweets.
"My Mum's on a diet, so she sent everything to me. Doesn't let my Dad have any, either. Tuck in, girls!" the redhead put the box on a table in the front and took out a Mars Bar.

"They're all Muggle sweets, though, she's a Muggle and doesn't like to do anything with magic." she shrugged, nomming on the candy.

Sami gazed longingly at the chocolate bar as it fell into the mouth of her professor. She was having trouble not walking up to the box, grabbing the whole thing and running away with it to her dorm. Her brain was still a little confused as to what the Muggle candy had to do with History of Magic. Wouldn't that fall under Muggle Studies? She gave a shrug and began her homework, seeing as they weren't doing anything else at the moment.

'What do Muggles have that we don't? What do we have in common with them? Can we have an effect on them without them knowing? Do they affect us?' was scrawled at the top of her essay in ink, a line underneath so Professor Nott would know they were the questions. She mindlessly looked through the questions, and a frown fell upon her face. Her hand flew in the air as the Ravenclaw asked, "Professor, could you specify the third question for me? What do you mean by effect?"

Hester was confused, the teacher hadn't specifically asked them to answer the questions and she wasn't sure whether she was supposed to of written the answers when she read them or put up her hand and answered them. And the teacher seemed... well, a little crazy.

She sighed softly; sometimes she thought she would never understand adults.

Then she began answering the questions on the parchment. More homework was not what she needed.

Muggles Versus Wizards

What do muggles have that we don't?

Electricity.

She was a little confused. This seemed more like a muggle studies lesson, a subject she hadn't taken. But then again, since she hadn't taken it, she wouldn't know what they taught in it. Perhaps this was completely different.

Despite having grown up a muggle, she found it difficult to answer the first question. Besides electricity, she couldn't think of anything else, because the wizarding world seemed to have so much.

Guns and weapons she wrote down after a few moments. She sat and stared at the paper, wondering if there was anything else she was missing.
