Relaxing by the Fire Empty
PostSubject: Relaxing by the Fire   Relaxing by the Fire EmptySat Mar 05, 2011 1:06 pm

Being full from the Sorting Feast, Raven went and sat down near the fire not bothering with chairs. Wondering where Gil had gotten off too, the boy felt too lazy and full to go look for his puppy. He was sure he was fine. He’d been a bit disappointed that he and Pia hadn’t gotten into the same house, but he was happy for her. At least she didn’t have to deal with those stuck up people he’d run onto in the train.

Stretching his legs out, he wondered if all the people in Slytherin were like them. He hoped not. They were the ones that gave Slytherins a bad name. Shaking his head, he wondered if he would end up like them if he were stuck with them all the time. Seven years was a long time. Especially if you were a kid still. Looking up but not moving when another person entered the Common Room he gave a nod for a greeting.

Thomas grinned after the Sorting Feast, it looked like Slytherin had gotten a fair few people, and they didn't seem the bad sort at least. He hoped they wouldn't all be Eliteist at least. After all, sometimes Thomas could see their point of view, the rest of the time? Not really, everyone had their own talents and could use them well. He walked into the Common Room, noticing one of the first years by the fire, he decided to wander over.

"Hi. Nice to meet you." Was all he said, before a dog came bounding in through the Portrait hole, which he had left open, he realised he shouldn't of, and quickly went over to close it. He realised the dog seemed pretty calm and relaxed next to the guy he had said hello to. "Yours then I take it?" He guessed out loud.

“Right back at you,” Raven replied eyeing the boy as he reached up and petted Gil. The puppy gave a happy woof and tried to use his sleeve as a chew toy, worrying it. “Yes, Gil is mine.”

Shoving his arm into the pup’s mouth Gil quickly let go. Now that he had his arm free, he stood and stretched it out to shake hands. “Raven Drake. Might as well tell you now, I’m not like the others.”

If this boy was like that stuck up girl on the train…This was going to be a long year. It would be nice if he didn’t have to watch his back constantly around all the snakes. Having an ally or friend would be nice.

Danni was delighted to have been sorted into Slytherin, like her older brother. Despite the fact that she rarely saw much of him these days, she loved and looked up to her older brother very much. She came down from the girl's dorm where she had just found her dog (much to her surprise, and delight) on her bed. Louie was still up there, but she felt the need to stretch her legs a bit, probably meet some others, too. She glanced over at the people in the common room, and her eyes were drawn to a boy with his dog. The same boy and dog from the train.

She wished she hadn't sat in that train after all. She had quickly realized those people weren't the greatest people in the world. The girl, especially. I mean, who really takes it as a compliment to be called conniving and mean? It was strange if you asked her.

With a smile on her face, she walked over to the two boys, one of whom she hadn't seen before. She didn't want to be rude, so she made sure to introduce herself to them both first. "Hello! I'm Danni. Danielle Valencia, actually, but I prefer Danni," she said to them both, giving them both a polite smile. Her eyes went to the dog and she grinned. All dogs were adorable to her, and this one was no exception. She turned her eyes on Luke, though. "You're that boy from the train, aren't you?" she said, innocent curiosity in her eyes as she spoke.

Lavender entered the common room, still thinking of what had just happened with Hester. The read head would certainly be the death of her, though it would be death Lavender would welcome with open arms. There were voices in the common room which caused her to look up. A girl and two boys were already in the room, though not far through a conversation by the looks or sounds of it.

"Oh, hi," Lavender stepped forward to join them. "Lavender Parkinson," She introduced herself with a smile. Lavender recognized one of the boys from the meeting in the empty classroom, though she couldn't remember his name.

Looking over at the girl who spoke, Raven clutched Gil to him protectively and gazed at her with narrowed brown eyes. She hadn’t really said anything on the train while he was in the compartment, but she had been in there hadn’t she? And she hadn’t really said anything. Then again, he couldn’t blame her. Girls were vicious creatures of their own, so she probably didn’t want to tangle with the Alli girl.

“I am,” he replied guardedly when another girl joined them. He gave her a curt nod. He didn’t have very good experience with Slytherins and knew that they could be tricky. He himself was one so he knew about that since he loved to use loopholes to his advantage. Hopefully theses three weren’t like the typical Slytherins. Reserving judgment on them for now he would be polite and give them the benefit of the doubt.
